Wow- they've been busy!
I really like what they did with the old cottage. I usually see Becky out tending to the flowers, and Bob keeping busy with other projects...like eating the figs that fall from the tree.

You've probably heard, but Becky was a busy lady this spring! She had two litters of kits- with a total of 20 babies!
We watched them grow every day, it really was a lot of fun- but it was also a lot of work. It was so nice to see them hopping around the yard looking for nice things to eat, and fun places to play. But bunny babies are just like regular babies, they are best when they are someone else's. |
Here are some of the babies, with their dad. Mom and Dad both did a great job taking care of the little critters.
Bob and Becky know it is important to take time for themselves, so occasionally they would sneak off for some alone time. (But Bob is fixed now, no more babies!)
Bob takes advantage of the alone time...and catches up on some sleep.
After having these rabbits here for 6 months, I've really started to get to know them. And this is one thing Becky always does- she likes to grab the food and run away. But don't feel too bad for Bob- he gets his fair share.
I banned the bunnies from the main yard, because they were eating everything. EVERYTHING.
Okay, the one plant they avoided completely - oregano. They didn't touch that one. Everything else in the yard is fair game.

That's it- the first six months of having bunnies was a LOT of work, and I learned a lot. Probably the biggest change was that I didn't realize that rabbits and plants can't really co-exist.
The next most important thing I learned, is that rabbits can be fun.

The bougainvillea still cascades over the fence. This might be the endless summer of Bob's dreams.
